Architecture in black and white
While studying photography at the University of Georgia, I developed a love for the subject of architectural history and was very interested in trying to record images of structures that I was drawn to. Photographically, I was inspired by pictures of the cathedrals of England and France that Frederick Evans produced around the turn of the last century. His approach to abstraction and the sensitivity that he showed toward the power of light and shade was something that I strived to emulate.
Monuments in Washington, DC and urban details of the Atlanta area are represented in this group of images.
